In plain English
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards or magnification. We build to WCAG 2.2 level AA as our target and we are still improving. If you find something hard to use, tell us and we will help and fix it.
This summary is a guide only. The full policy below is what applies.
1Our commitment
- 1.1
Crello Agency wants everyone to be able to use crello.co.uk. We are working to make the website easier to use and to understand for as many people as possible, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities.
- 1.2
This statement applies to the website at crello.co.uk. It does not cover the Client Portal at portal.crello.co.uk or the websites we build for clients, which have their own owners.
2The standard we aim for
- 2.1
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. WCAG is the international standard for accessible websites.
- 2.2
We have not yet commissioned an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim full conformance with the standard. We test our own pages and fix problems as we find them.
3What we do
- 3.1
Features we build into the website include:
- a “skip to content” link at the top of each page;
- a logical page structure with proper headings, landmarks and lists;
- full use by keyboard, with visible focus indicators on links, buttons and form fields;
- buttons that are real buttons, and links that describe where they go;
- text alternatives or hidden labels for meaningful images and icons, and decorative graphics hidden from screen readers;
- labelled form fields, with clear error messages that are announced to assistive technology;
- layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and desktops, and that work when text is enlarged;
- colour contrast that we check for body text and controls;
- reduced motion: animations and transitions are limited or switched off if your device is set to reduce motion.
4Known limitations
- 4.1
We know that some things on the site are not perfect yet:
- some decorative animations and illustrated page elements may be distracting to some users. The reduced motion setting on your device turns most of them off;
- some illustrated examples of our work and brochure previews may not have full text alternatives for every detail;
- links to external sites, such as WhatsApp, social media services and client websites, lead to content that we do not control;
- text in brochures and downloadable summaries may not meet every accessibility check;
- some pages are long and use filters, tabs and accordions, which we are continuing to test with assistive technology.
- 4.2
We are working to fix these. We update this statement when we do.
5Help and alternative formats
- 5.1
If you have trouble using any part of this website, or need information in a different format, such as large print, plain text or audio, email us and we will help. Please tell us the web address of the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you were using.
- 5.2
You can also message us through the Client Portal. We will reply within 5 Working Days, and we will provide the information in an accessible format wherever we reasonably can.
6Reporting a problem
- 6.1
We welcome feedback. If you find an accessibility problem that is not listed above, or you think we are not meeting the standard, please email support@crello.co.uk. We take reports seriously and treat them as complaints under our Complaints Policy.
7If you are not happy with our response
- 7.1
If you contact us and we do not reply in a way that you are satisfied with, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com. EASS gives free advice on discrimination and human rights in England, Scotland and Wales.
8Websites we build for you
- 8.1
We build every client website with the same care for accessibility: semantic structure, readable text, good contrast, usable forms and mobile friendly design. You remain responsible for the content you add to your own website, including making sure that images have suitable descriptions and that your documents are accessible.
9Updates to this statement
- 9.1
We review this statement from time to time, and each time we make significant changes to the website. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
